Moment of inertia (MOI) and Swing Weight

Moment of inertia (MOI) governs how and feels a bat is a more meaningful way of how you swing it that the actual weight of the bat. Bat speed, bat not the size or weight, is the key factor in driving a ball. Bat speed is influenced by a number of variables such as the bat length, weight and bats bats Moment of inertia (MOI), which is often called the swing weight or balance.
The distinction between light or heavy weight swing really low in the equilibrium (or center of mass) and the moment of inertia. The bat closer the balance of the handle, the easier it is to swing. The basic idea is that this is not the total weight of the bat, which determines how fast you can swing a stick, but how the weight is distributed over the length of the bat. For example, a bat with a balance point closer to the handle feels lighter and faster than swing end loaded bat. This is true even of both bats are exactly the same weight on a scale. The higher the rating, the greater the moment of inertia and the weight of the heavy swing.
In general, most players can hit the ball with more light (low MOI) bats. It is only the biggest hitters circuit, which is still with a heavier ball (really higher MOI) bats. Even the lightest during the bat bat swing phase.
Good players who are strongly inclined to prefer bats with a heavy swing weight as they swing the bat fast enough and the extra inertia of the bat more effectively the impact with the ball. Players who are not as strong, or can not swing a heavy bat quickly tend to opt for a weight bat to swing so as to swing their bats and get faster speed balls hit that way.
Easton is one of the few manufacturers that the MOI of their bats and is the basis of their concept Hit def Matrix. Here is the opinion of the MAI in 2009, their bats:
• Stealth IMX - MAY 90 Rating
• Synergy IMX - MAY 80 Rating
• SV12 - MAY 70 Rating
• V12 - MAY 60 Rating
AMI is well understood that one of the material factors, the handle flex, mass and design (1 or 2 pieces) are the others. But it is often ignored or misunderstood. You need time and effort to what I decide is best for you and what the opinion of the bat you want.
