The Chicago Cubs are a team of Major League Baseball in Chicago, Illinois. The Tribune Company owns the team while the team led by Lou Piniella. Is team president John McDonough and Jim Hendry is the CEO. The Cubs have the honor of one of two major league teams based in Chicago. Chicago White Sox in the American League is the other team. The two clubs have reached the status of the Charter members of their respective championships.

Cincinnati Red Stockings of 1869 is baseball first openly all professional team. The success and reputation of this team resulted in a minor explosion of openly professional teams in 1870.
